Shira Chess, Ph.D. is an associate professor of Entertainment & Media Studies at the University of Georgia, in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. She is author of Ready Player Two: Women Gamers and Designed Identity (University of Minnesota Press, 2017) and the forthcoming book Play Like a Feminist (MIT Press, 2020).

Aaron A. Reed is a writer, designer, and researcher focused on finding new ways for gamemakers and players to tell stories together. His award-winning games have been featured at IndieCade, South by Southwest, Slamdance, GaymerX, and the Independent Games Festival, and he has spoken about digital storytelling at WorldCon, Google, PAX and PAX East, NarraScope, and the Game Developer Conference. He lives in Santa Cruz, California.
